On Saturday, January 28th Easthampton High School students won the statewide competition We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution that was held at the John F. Kennedy Institute at Harvard University. As winners of the competition, we will represent Massachusetts at the 25th Anniversary We the People National Finals, held April 27- May 1, 2012 in Washington D.C.

We are very excited and honored to be representing Massachusetts in our nation’s capitol. The competition, which takes the form of a simulated congressional hearing, is conducted on the campus of George Mason University and in U.S. Senate hearing rooms. During the hearings, groups of students testify as constitutional experts before panels of judges acting as congressional committees.

In order for our team of 10 students to compete at this prestigious event we must raise $1,200 per student—that’s $12,000 in total. Will you help us represent Massachusetts this April in Washington D.C.?
